Marilyn’s yellow diamond, as unique a piece as we are

The famous yellow diamond worn by Marilyn Monroe during the shooting of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" comes with a peculiar story of its own. The so-called "Moon of Baroda", with its pear-shaped cut (and an amazing 24.04-carat weight), was a smart publicity stunt by the Meyer Jewellery Company that had just purchased it in 1953. The diamond comes from 17th century Southern India. Over the years it reached Empress Maria Theresa of Austria and then the famous set of Marilyn's movie. Using it for our glasses would be impossible- because of its weight- but it undoubtedly made history.
