Do you love (icy) coldness? Then we have the right diamond for you
It's called a "cryogenic diamond" and it's a particular gem that changes colour when exposed to extremely low temperatures. The team of the Gemological Institute of America, in California, recently discovered a new stone that turns yellow when exposed to -196 °C (the temperature of liquid nitrogen, just to be clear), similarly to chameleon diamonds, which change colour if heated or kept in the dark for a few hours. That's when we got a new idea (two or three actually) here at 3ND: instead of just personalising the shape and finish of gold glasses, why not also offering the option to choose a colour-changing stone?
